Membership

How do you protect my privacy?

We take your privacy very seriously. Accordingly, we employ advanced security and privacy management tools to safeguard your privacy on a continuous basis. We do not rent or sell our subscriber list and we do not store any credit card details on our site. You can review our complete privacy policy here or our terms and conditions here.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Please log in at BlastChart.com and go to the "My Account" page and select "Data Subscriptions". Choose the subscription you want to cancel and follow the prompts.

What happens to my historical data when I cancel?

Your historical data is maintained on your local hard drive. When starting the BlastChart™ desktop application, select "Work Offline".

How do I opt out of emails?

All emails have an "Opt Out" link at the bottom of the email content. Click the link will take you to our eNewsletter page where you can add or remove subscriptions whenever you want.

How do I recover my password?

Go to the BlastChart™ website login page, enter your username and click the Password Reminder button. We will then email you your password at the email address associated with your account.

How secure is my password?

All password are encrypted using high quality data algorithms. For security reasons we do not publish specific details of the algorithms we use. We recommend that you use a strong password. Please search the web for the phrase “tips for strong passwords” for advice on how to be secure online.

Billing

What credit cards do you accept?

Currently we only support Visa and Mastercard. American Express, JCB, Discover and Diners are soon to follow. The payment on your credit card statement will state “The Wizard Trader”. We do not charge any credit card surcharge. Our payment provider does require billing address details as part of the anti-fraud measures.

Can I pay without a credit card?

No. All subscriptions must be finalized using a valid credit card. Free versions of our software do not require a credit card for download or usage.

What currency will I be billed in?

It's up to you really. We advertise in US Dollars and all our main landing pages outside of the online shop bill in US Dollars. However, in the online shop, you can choose between Australian Dollars (AUD), Great Britain Pounds (GBP) and Euros (EUR). We automatically select with location you are currently based on and therefore the currency that you will most likely want to be billed in. You can change this by selecting your location when viewing an item in the shop.  

Can I request a refund?

Yes. We offer a full 30 day money back guarantee on all our packages. Refunds are credited to the original credit card used at point of purchase and may take up to 3 days to appear on your credit card statement. You may review our cancellation policy here.

How do I get started with BlastChart?

You must become a member before you can purchase a subscription package. Packages are bundled with historical data and future data for your convenience. Select the package that best suits your trading experience and with the exchange data you're interested in studying. You can save money by purchasing additional historical data or additional exchanges during your initial purchase.

Where can I download my software?

After purchase you should be redirected to a download link. In the event of an error, please log in to the BlastChart.com website and navigate to the "My Account" page and select "Downloads".

I'm prompted for a username and password when BlastChart™ desktop application starts. What is my username and password?

Use the same username and password that you created on the BlastChart.com website. To recover a lost username or password please go here.

Can I use BlastChart™ when I am not connected to the Internet?

Yes. Select "Work Offline" from the login prompt when starting the BlastChart™ desktop application. However, not all versions of BlastChart™ offer offline mode, please check the specific features of your version.

Does BlastChart run on Apples / Macs?

We do not support the Mac / Apple operating system. However the software may work on a Mac in a Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7 virtual machine, but it is not officially supported. There are several solutions that claim to run Microsoft applications on a Mac. Search the internet for details.

Can I use BlastChart™ on my Home and Work computers?

Yes. Your subscription information is stored on our servers and enables you to use BlastChart™ from several computers, however you can only login to one account at a time. Some versions of BlastChart™ support server based storage of configuration and user data that is synchronized as you move between computers, please check the specific features of your version.

Can I use BlastChart™ on more than one computer simultaneously?

You can install BlastChart™ on several computers, however you cannot use the software concurrently with the same user name.

How do I turn off the "clicking sound"?

BlastChart™ uses Internet Explorer (IE) to load webpages as a background task. When some pages are loaded, IE fires a sound event to signify certain actions. To de-active this feature (it will de-activate it for all Internet Explorer and Windows Explorers) do this: Click Start > Control Panel > Sound. Click the Sounds tab. Scroll down the list under Program. Under the Windows Explorer section, highlight Start Navigation. Under the Sounds box, select (None) > OK, close Control Panel.

How do I upgrade my software to the latest release?

BlastChart™ automatically checks for updates each time the software is started. We recommend that you accept all upgrades. No other intervention is needed.

How do I upgrade or add more features?

You can purchase additional features anytime through this website. The software is automatically upgraded and your settings will be maintained.

Does BlastChart™ save my personal information to a central server?

Yes. Your subscription information is always maintained on our servers. Some versions of BlastChart™ support server based storage of configuration and user data that is synchronized as you move between computers, please check the specific features of your version.

What are the technical requirements needed to install BlastChart™?

BlastChart™ requires a standard user account to install and run. All modern x86 or x64 computers that support the Microsoft Windows platform should work. Check specific system requirements here.

What versions of Microsoft Windows are supported?

We recommend Windows 7 (either 32 or 64bit). Microsoft Vista and Microsoft XP are fully supported. The software requires that Microsoft .NET 4.0 framework be installed on the computer and will automatically install it. You will require Administrator privileges to install only the Microsoft .NET 4 framework if required.

Will my software work if I have a firewall installed at home or work?

Yes. If you can access an internet web browser you can install an use BlastChart™.

Data Subscriptions

How do I download data?

All data management is handled automatically within BlastChart™ based on the exchanges you have subscribed to. Check your subscription records in the "My Account" section at BlastChart.com.

What happens to my historical data when I cancel my subscription?

Your historical data is maintained on your local hard drive in the data cache. When starting the BlastChart™ desktop application, select "Work Offline" to continue to use this saved data.

Can I export data?

Yes. You can export the OHLCV series as well as any indicator values of the current chart you are viewing. Simply click Data / Export (XLS) from within the application or press F1 so find more help on this topic.

I bought some stock recently but the charts show a different price to what I paid?

Share splits, reverse splits and institutional placements may change the price and volumes. The data from the data provider and exchanges may adjust the data taking account of dilution and other off the market transactions. If you suspect and error in our data please lodge a support request via the BlastChart™ contact form.

How much historical data do I need?

Your trading style, experience and risk profile will determine the amount of historical data required.

Why do I have gaps in my data?

There may be a gap in your subscription data. Check your subscription records in the "My Account" section at BlastChart.com to ensure you have continuous data. If the data gap persists, contact the BlastChart™ support team via the contact form.

What happens if I don’t download data for a while?

All data is automatically synchronized the next time you open the chart and view your symbols. There are more advanced types of data synchronization provided in paid version of BlastChart™ that allow you to automatically download entire favorites lists or even whole exchanges!

I am charting a stock, but it has moved from one exchange to a another exchange. Do I still have access to the data?

Not unless you maintain a subscription with the new exchange. Check your subscription records in the "My Account" section at BlastChart.com.

I get an error message "Cannot Download Data" or "TimeOut"?

It may be that your internet connection is slow at the present time. Please retry and if the problem continues please contact the BlastChart™ suppor team via the contact form.
